Latte; Preference Floors, Prestige Oak
A Fresh New Look for an Empty-Nester Home in Cherrybrook
With their children grown up and moved out, this lovely couple in Cherrybrook, Sydney decided it was time to give their family home a fresh new look — just in time for the newest member of the household, a furry pup. 🐶
Rather than undertaking a major renovation, they focused on one of the biggest visual elements in any home: the flooring. By combining engineered timber flooring and new carpet, the whole house immediately felt brighter, warmer and more modern.
Preference Prestige Oak Latte Engineered Timber
For the main living areas, the homeowners selected Preference Prestige Oak Latte engineered timber.
The warm, natural oak tone works beautifully with the existing home while giving it a much more contemporary feel. Engineered timber was also a practical choice for this project, offering the beauty and character of real timber with greater dimensional stability than traditional solid timber flooring.
For a household with a dog, it also provides a practical, easy-to-clean surface for everyday living.
Quest Carpets Maddison Groove – Wind Dance
For the carpeted areas, we installed Quest Carpets Maddison Groove in Wind Dance, a durable nylon carpet with a soft and comfortable feel underfoot.
Nylon is a great option for busy households because of its resilience, stain resistance and ability to recover well from foot traffic. For an older couple sharing their home with a new four-legged family member, it offers a nice balance between comfort and practicality.
Sometimes New Flooring Is All a Home Needs
One of the things we loved about this Cherrybrook flooring renovation was how much the home changed without requiring a complete remodel.
The combination of warm engineered oak and fresh nylon carpet gave an older family home a completely new atmosphere — ready for its next chapter, with fewer kids in the house and a few more paw prints on the floor.
There are two stages in this project, 5 bedrooms in carpet, living areas and stairs in timber, clients spent about $27000 in this project.
